wildlife walk

Our Wildlife Walk is a short circular route from the garden, along the edge of the meadow to the woodland and down into the valley.

Over the centuries the forests and woodlands that once covered much of our countryside have  been cleared for farming, industry, towns and cities.
Today even small wooded areas are important for plants, birds, mammals and insects.

In 2000 we began our woodland project, planting more than 1200 native species in 4.5 acres; the trees planted here will gradually establish a small woodland.
