Our self-guided walks start from your accommodation at Eastgate Barn to explore the network of footpaths and quiet lanes around the Lynher Valley and onto the hills of nearby Bodmin Moor.

Each walk, there are now 24 to select from, has a detailed guide and a printed route map. Most of our walks start here at Eastgate Barn and some start with a short drive to a suitable parking place.
The range of walks give a choice length and height gain;  valley walks along waymarked paths through farmland; moorland routes that climb gently onto the open hills and rugged granite tors for the wonderful views.

Eastgate Wildlife Walk takes you across the meadow beyond  the garden. Here we are creating a new woodland in the valley where the old oaks trees, Cornish hedgerows and the stream provide habitat to many to birds, butterflies and dragonflies. This is wonderful walk in the early morning light or a stroll at the end of the day with the setting sun across the valley.

Bodmin Moor is a small and special moorland landscape; a patchwork of  gentle hills, granite tors, farms, woodlands and  valleys. Its a peaceful place to explore, with great walks.
Much of the moor is within Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), with many important archaeological sites and SSSIs (sites of special scientific interest).

Climbing & bouldering
The nearby tors of Bodmin Moor are good for climbing and bouldering, also close to here is the Cheesewring Quarry at Minions and both the north and south coast are easy to reach.
