the local area This peaceful part of Cornwall is midway between the north and south coast on the eastern side of Bodmin Moor. Here the Lynher Valley and Bodmin Moor are within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with wonderful scenery, natural history and a wealth of archaeology. The villages have excellent village shops and pubs (information provided in the Granary); the towns are Launceston (7miles) with the Castle, Liskeard (8miles) and Callington (6½ miles). It's 30-45 minutes drive to the coast and Truro is one hour. See my out and about pages for days out in this part of Cornwall.
Our walks guides give
a great range of walks to explore the valley and Bodmin Moor,
Golitha Falls National Nature Reserve and the
Tamar Valley
is is just a few miles from here. |
