Eastgate Barn at Landreyne
Landreyne
Manor was mentioned in the Doomsday Book, the
present buildings are about 150 years old.
Eastgate Barn
is a traditional Cornish stone barn, one of
three converted barns in the courtyard at
Landreyne beyond the old farmhouse.
The Granary is the right-hand half of the
largest barn. Originally the grain was stored
here for feeding the farm animals. Until 1950
there was a water-wheel on the outside of the
building to drive the mill.
The
nearest villages, North Hill and Coads Green are
both 1 mile, and provide a pub, a church and a
Methodist chapel.
Village shops are at Upton Cross and Lewannick,
3-4 miles, Launceston is 7 miles. |
