The Granary at Eastgate Barn   
   

Introduction

The Granary is a self-catering cottage, part of a converted barn, in a small residential hamlet. This is 1 mile from the nearest village, 4 miles to the nearest shop and 7 miles to a town. I have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to telephone or email.

Planning your journey

If you are arriving by car I will send you detailed directions.

The nearest public transport (rail and coach) is 8 miles. Local bus service I mile but limited timetable.  Taxi services are available.

 

Arrival

Private car parking on level concrete surface

To reach the main entrance there is a path (80cm wide) gently sloping up which has seven steps (max height 16cm, 3 of which are 40cm depth)

It is about 35m from the car parking area to the accommodation entrance.

 

The Accommodation – main room

The entrance is through the French Windows (each door is 70cm wide), with a step up (4 cm) and a weatherboard.

Inside is a step down (10cm) into the main room.

 

The main room

The main room is open plan, with areas for dining, sitting and the kitchen corner.

Flooring is wood, with two rugs.

Dining table and chairs (standard heights) with plenty of surrounding space.

Settee facing the television.

TV/DVD player, music system, (all at maximum height 80cm)

The kitchen unit (surface height 92cm) has microwave/combination oven and hob (height 80cm), shelving below with saucepans.

The sink unit (height 92cm) has cupboards below with materials and utensils.

Space between kitchen unit and sink unit 110cm.

The fridge (height 80cm) is in the far corner of the room (distance 12m), it has a small freezer unit.

Night storage heaters provide background heating.

The woodburning stove provides extra heating; it becomes very hot and should not be touched when in use. An insulated glove is provided for opening the door for refuelling.

Telephone for incoming calls only.

 

The bedroom

A single step down (6cm).

Flooring is fitted carpet.

Double bed (standard width and 58cm height to mattress with 1.3m surrounding space).

Opening window (at 1.8m) and roof window for additional light and ventilation (open with window pole) with insulated blind.

 

En-suite shower room

At same level as bedroom, through door (width 70cm)

Vinyl flooring

Overall width 68cm min.

Toilet - height 43cm, space to left 10cm and to right 30cm when looking at toilet.

Basin – height 82cm, space each side 25cm, at front 55cm.

Shower – door width 57cm, step up into shower 30cm.

 

Outside

Sun deck with wooden chairs and table.

Garden with lawn very slightly sloping providing easy access to the road and meadow walk.
